Description

The Municipality of Pafos, in collaboration with the Pafos Nature and Cultural Association, is organizing the Pafos Anthestiria 2026 on Sunday, May 10 — the biggest celebration of spring!

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with a grand parade starting near the CYTA building on Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue and ending at 28th October Square (Town Hall Square). Public and private schools from Pafos, along with dance schools and groups, will participate, creating a vibrant and colorful spectacle in the city center with themed groups and decorated floats. The parade will reach its peak in front of Ethnarch Makarios III Lyceum before arriving at the square, marking the beginning of the grand celebration.

From 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., 28th October Square will transform into a lively open-air space filled with creativity and entertainment for children and families, featuring a rich program of activities. Children will have the opportunity to take part in creative workshops, painting, arts and crafts, face painting, mosaic and jewelry making, as well as activities on a specially designed climbing wall for young visitors.

Starting from 1:00 p.m., Green Forest will host a flower and plant sale at the venue, connecting the celebration with springtime and Mother’s Day. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a variety of treats and refreshments including crepes, ice cream, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, loukoumades, lemonade, refreshing sangria, and more.

A special highlight will be the presence of Charalambides Christis, which will be at the square with its mobile van offering free chocolate milk to visitors.

The event will also be broadcast live via LIVE LINK by SUPER FM from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., hosted by radio producers Kalliopi Kouroupi and Loukas Fronistas.

As part of the Anthestiria celebrations, parallel events will also take place, including a garden art exhibition titled “A Blooming World: From Van Gogh to Kusama”, as well as the photography exhibition “Anthestiria Memories” presented by the Pafos Nature Association.

At the same time, AKTI Center for Studies and Research will organize interactive activities together with its caravan, aiming to raise environmental awareness and strengthen the educational aspect of the event.

This year’s Pafos Anthestiria 2026 promises to be a unique experience combining tradition with contemporary creativity, showcasing Pafos as a city that consistently invests in culture and family-oriented events with quality and vision.

Admission is free for the public.
